How to Fix Cydia Errors on iPhone

How to Fix Cydia Errors on iPhone
The first time an error message comes from Cydia, a lot of users tend to freak out. But as it turns out, most Cydia errors on iPhone, iPod and iPad can be fixed without much hassle. It’s easy to understand why many users believe that’s the error that will be unsolvable since Cydia isn’t that easy to get along with, particularly when jailbreaking isn’t quite your most common activity. And errors do tend to surface, since many users will install data packages and tweaks that aren’t quite compatible with the jailbreak version, iOS or device.

Some of the most common Cydia error messages are also some of the easiest to fix. Oftentimes users will report getting the following error messages from Cydia: “I wasn’t able to locate file for the sbsettings package. This might mean you need to manually fix this package” and “netdb: open nodename nor servname provided, or not known”. Obviously these are not the kind of things most people would know about.
There are three ways to fix Cydia errors on iPhone, iPod and iPad that will remove most glitches:

Method No. 1

Launch Cydia from your device and tap Refresh (it’s on the top left). Wait for the app to download and reload data and then just try to install a package.

Method No. 2

Open Cydia, select Manage > Sources and then Edit to remove all third-party repositories. The general advice is to avoid the removal of the default repositories: BigBoss, Cydia/Telesphoreo, ZodTTD/MacCiti, Dev Team and ModMyi.

Method No. 3

If previous methods have failed to solve the Cydia errors then just reboot your iPhone, iPad or iPod and launch Cydia again.

If none of the above methods to fix Cydia glitches delivers the expected results, then it means you will need a more specific method to handle the problem. You will find a list of the bugs and their fixes in the Tutorials category available on the website.
