Although the Evad3rs team has delivered the fix countless iPhone 5,
4S and iPad owners waited for months, there’s still a sort of disbelief
and uncertainty going around. First of all it is the warning we’ve
learned to heed over the past few years and that is to be weary of
first-time jailbreakers. Still, Evasi0n is the work of reputable hackers
and longtime iOS jailbreak developers.
Their tool performs an
untethered jailbreak on your A5 device and gives you the ability to take
your iOS device to the next level. Still, it’s better to be safe than
sorry, so we’ve prepared a list of the most common Evasi0n jailbreak
bugs and their fixes. Just in case your jailbreak doesn’t perform with
flying colors.
Cydia might appear tiny after rebooting, also
called the quarter screen bug. That might be caused by an
incompatibility with iOS 6 that causes problems only after the reboot.
You need to uninstall any tweak that is not compatible with iOS 6. You
have to go to the package page in Cydia, select Change Package Settings
and switch on the “Show All Changes” feature. Here is the full list of
tweaks that might cause the quarter screen bug.
If your device is
stuck at the Apple logo following the jailbreak, just perform a hard
reboot until it reboots. Do that by holding down the lock/sleep button
and home button at the same time.
Another common bug with the
Evasi0n jailbreak impacts Winterboard notifications. Notifications might
not show up on the device’s lockscreen when a lockscreen HTML theme is
enabled. For that developers still don’t have a fix.
You might
get 500 error messages such as “host unreachable”, “hash sum mismatch”.
According to the Q&A evasi0n help page, this just means the Cydia
Store system and its repositories are dealing with a lot of traffic.
Just be patient and retry the jailbreak procedure.
