Amazon is at the top of its game when it comes to online content
shopping, whereas Apple is a top name in the smartphone, tablet and Mp3
player markets. It should have happened a long time ago and it might be
an aggressive step from a competitor, but Apple devices now have a
compatible Amazon Music Store, coming from the top seller of online
content and one of the most compelling Android users.
Normally,
when “mommy and daddy are fighting” the kids or consumers in this case,
have everything to lose. Not this time, however. Amazon optimized its
Music Store for Apple devices, and while this is a slap in the face,
it’s a great and beneficial move for the iPhone, iPad and iPod user. For
the Apple user this translates in better access to Amazon and more
content.
“Since the launch of the Amazon Cloud Player app for
iPhone and iPod Touch, a top request from customers has been the ability
to buy music from Amazon right from their devices” said Steve Boom,
vice president of Amazon Music. “For the first time ever, iOS users have
a way to do that – now they can access Amazon’s huge catalog of music,
features like personalized recommendations... They can buy their music
once and use it everywhere” the VP added.
The Amazon Music Store
for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch saves every music purchase into the
device’s Cloud Player library, making it possible to play the content
from any iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Kindle Fire, Android smartphone and
tablet, Roku, Sonos and web browsers.
“It might not be as
incredibly user-friendly as the iTunes Music Store and the iOS music
player, but it will work, and every customer that switches to Amazon
will be a win for Amazon and CEO Jeff Bezos in the long run” writes
Forbes about the Amazon Music Store for Apple devices. At least, this
time around, acerb competition delivers perks to the users, instead of
the useless and constant bickering over patents and market share.
