The Evad3rs team released just a few days ago the iOS 6 untethered
jailbreak tool for iPhone 5. If you haven’t performed the jailbreak yet,
here’s a guide that explains every step of the process. It’s basically
just as hassle-free as previous jailbreak tools, so you won’t need
extensive hacker skills or software development knowledge.
The
following is an evasi0n step-by-step untethered jailbreak tutorial for
iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.0 via a Windows system. Before anything else,
make sure you perform a backup of your iPhone 5 as well as save your
device’s SHSH blobs.
Step One
On your Windows’ desktop,
create a new folder and call it Pwnage. Download the jailbreak tool in
this folder. Extract the Evasi0n zip file in this folder, double click
to open the folder and launch the .exe evasi0n file in Administrator
mode.
Step Two
The evasi0n jailbreak app will first ask
you to connect your iPhone 5 via USB to your Windows computer. Before
connecting your smartphone to the computer, remove lock screen passcodes
and wait for the jailbreak tool to recognize your iPhone model and iOS
version. Click on the “Jailbreak” button when you’re ready.
Step Three
Evasi0n
will now perform the actual jailbreak and will run the following
stages: generate jailbreak data, inject stage 1 jailbreak data, reboot
the device, wait for the device to be ready, inject stage 2 jailbreak
data, upload Cydia and upload the Cydia packages list. Just don’t touch
your device during the process.
Step Four
Unlock your
device, tap the “Jailbreak” app icon just once. Don’t get worried and
don’t touch your device: the app will open and close right away, also
the screen will go black and then return to the home screen.
Step Five
Evasi0n
will inject the remount payload, remount the root filesystem, prepare
the final jailbreak data, inject the final jailbreak data. Be patient
for the jailbreak tool to do its thing and don’t tap the icon again.
Step Six
Before the Cydia icon will appear on your iPhone 5’s SpringBoard, the smartphone may restart several times.
