Now that you’ve performed a jailbreak on your iPhone 5 it’s time to
start installing the best and most entertaining tweaks. Zephyr should
definitely one of the first jailbreak tweaks you get for your iPhone 5.
It adds iPad gestures to your device!
Apple might have released
their best iPhone yet, but the company did not think to release with
iPhone 5 a new set of gestures, or at least incorporate some of the
four-finger iPad gestures. This is something that has a lot of buyers
baffled as they can’t figure out why Apple hasn’t given them the choice
to use multi-touch gestures on iPhone 5 or not.
The thing is
Apple’s iPhone 5 has a much smaller screen than the iPad, so multi-touch
gestures might not be an efficient use of resources. But Chpwn believes
users can decide for themselves and trusting the 4-inch Retina
display’s attributes the developer released the Zephyr jailbreak tweak,
which has in no time become one of the most popular apps in Cydia. In
fact, fellow developer Steve Troughton-Smith dubbed it as one of the
coolest jailbreak tweaks ever and a sign that “iOS on the iPhone really
needs edge-swipe multitasking gestures”.
Zephyr is the perfect
tweak when you’re struggling with a broken Home Button. The Cydia tweak
makes it possible to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to close
apps, swipe left or right from the edge of the screen to switch between
apps, swipe up very smoothly to display the multitasking switched.
Chpwn
keeps Zephyr updated on a regular basis, the 1.6 version for instance
features improved keyboard detection, rotation support, keyboard
disable, and new side swipe area gestures. For instance, Chpwn added the
three-finger pinch option, the enable side swipes from a portion of
your screen and fixed issues with OpenGL apps. The 1.5 version of Zephyr
gives you the ability to use on iPhone 5 the following iPad gestures:
pinch to close apps and four-finger swipe between apps.
Zephyr currently supports iOS 6.1, 6.0, iOS 5.0 and 5.1 on iPhone and iPod Touch and is available in Cydia App Store here for $2.99. Consider installing the multitasking Auxo tweak to keep Zephyr company and boost your device’s overall performance.
